This week Jessica took part in a hustings hosted by the the Students' Union at Bournemouth University.
The hustings was an opportunity for candidates from Labour, the Liberal Democrats and Greens from both Bournemouth West and Bournemouth East to answer questions posed by students. The Conservative candidates decline to participate in the event.
Jessica answered questions from students on a wide range of subject including the cost of living, mental health support, international students, freedom of speech and the conflict in Gaza. It was a chance to set out Labour's ambitious vision for the country as well as their costed plans to deal with the cost of living, NHS waiting lists and mental health support.
She was impressed with the students' engagement and interest in the debate.
The event was also a chance to tell students how important their votes could be in the upcoming election and why they should back Labour. Bournemouth West has the third highest number of students living in any Conservative held seat. Labour has an historic opportunity to unseat the Conservatives in Bournemouth.
