On Friday 22nd September, Jessica attended the opening of the new Livingstone Academy in the Lansdowne area of Bournemouth Town Centre.
The school is the fruit of a collaboration between Sir Ian Livingstone and the Aspirations Academies Trust and aims to be the country's first digital academy.
Jessica took part in a tour of the school's buildings and spoke to students at work using state of the art technologies like VR headsets and 3D printers. She also took part in a student court drama production and visited a range of the schools facilities with other community stakeholders.
The school's emphasis on creativity, innovation and digital skills is well placed to support Bournemouth's reputation as a burgeoning digital and creative industries hub, as well as contribute to the future of its economy.
