On Wednesday, Jessica swore in at Parliament and officially became the MP for Bournemouth West.
At the beginning of every Parliament all members must elect a new Speaker of the House and formally swear in. This includes making an oath or affirmation to the Monarch, his heirs and successors.

This process also gives each member a chance to introduce themselves to the new Speaker of the House.
Jessica can now raise questions in the House and will be preparing to make her Maiden Speech over the course of the first few months.
