Jessica was invited by Brewhouse & Kitchen to meet with them in Parliament during the Hospitality Apprenticeships Showcase.
During the event, Jessica had a chance to meet with Brewhouse apprenticeships and learn more about their training programmes. She also spoke with Kris Gumbrell and representatives of the British Beer and Pub Association about the challenges associated with the Apprenticeship Levy.
Labour has plans to reform the Apprenticeship Levy to give employers more flexibility to response to the skills needs that exist in their local areas. The new Growth & Skills levy will be able to support a wider variety of skills training opportunities at all stages of people's careers. This is part of Labour's mission to break down barriers to opportunities.
Congratulations are also in order to Brewhouse for winning an award for their apprenticeship scheme. Read more about the award and Jessica's visit in the Bournemouth Echo below.
