On Tuesday, government ministers U-turned and scrapped plans to close ticket offices across our rail network.
This means our ticket offices at both Branksome and Bournemouth stations will remain open.
The announcement follows a campaign launched in July of this year by Labour's Parliamentary Candidate for Bournemouth West, Jessica Toale. She said:
"Thank you for all your support in our campaign to save Branksome station's ticket office! Our voices were heard.
Passenger watchdogs received more than 750,000 responses to the public consultation. I shared your concerns with both the consultation transport watchdog and with the Conservative Transport Minister Mark Harper MP.
I am delighted with the decision to keep our ticket offices open. Despite limited opening hours at Branksome, the ticket office provides a lifeline to passengers who are unable to use ticket machines and enables passengers to get in-depth advice from knowledgable staff."
